Catherine (Cate) Bolt
President/Founder
Location: Queensland
Occupation: Project 18 President
About: Cate is a mother of 9 who has previously worked as a journalist, photographer, prison officer and company director. She is passionate about children’s rights, conservation, music & the arts. She is married to Project 18 secretary/treasurer, Rick.
Reason for joining the project: Didn’t want to die without doing something extraordinary or without making some effort to leave the world a better place. You haven’t truly lived until you have involved yourself in something that is bigger than yourself. There is something we can all be doing to make the world a better place. The only person I can control is myself – I therefore chose to be the change I wanted to see in the world. Hopefully my actions will inspire others to do whatever they can to save this beautiful world we live in.
Rick Bolt
Treasurer/Secretary

Occupation: Project Director – KPI Project Management
About: Rick is Dad to nine and husband to Project 18 president,Cate. For the past 10 years prior to moving to QLD Rick managed the development of numerous alternative energy projects throughout Australia. He is a nationally recognised expert in the field of alternate energy and brings to the project a wealth of business, technical and people management skills.
Reason for joining the project: I felt compelled to do something positive for the world. Catherine & I are dedicated to spending the rest of our lives trying to help the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves. I am passionate about conservation and about teaching people how to live in harmony with their environment, living a comfortable lifestyle without living to excess. I believe that the key to long term change is education from the grass roots level.
Erica Smith
Social Media Manager
Location: ACT
Occupation: Stay At Home Mum
About: Erica is a mum to 3 who most recently worked as a video producer/editor for a small production house. Her passions include child safety & education, animals and chocolate.

Carol Barry
Management Committe Member
Location: Victoria
Occupation: Owner/Manager – TAWC
About: Carol resides in the Sth Eastern suburbs of Melbourne with her 2 children, and husband of 15yrs. Her work history has included Child Care, Medical Administration, Customer Service and she is now the proud owner of TAWC, a company Catherine Bolt started from scratch 10yrs ago. Carol has a great interest in metaphysics and learning from all the wonderful people that enter her life.
Reason for Joining the Project: I believe that each and every one of us has the opportunity and duty to make this world a better place and I think we all feel at times “what else could I be doing?” The opportunity to house, educate, medicate and save a child in such need, was really reason enough. One by one, bit by bit we can ALL do this…and it’s an absolute honour to be part of the HUGE change this project will make.

Loki Ogilvie
Management Committee Member
Location: QueenslandOccupation: Student
Location: QueenslandOccupation: Student
About: Loki comes from a large family and is currently focused on his year twelve studies. He enjoys the company of others and enjoys listening to people talk about past experiences. He is willing to gain some experiences from this wide world and helping people is just second nature to him.
Reason for Joining the Project: The thought of children on the streets without a home, mum or dad and meager scraps of food to live on is enough to make me sick. To think that there is some way I could help makes me feel ready to pitch in and do my all to help.
Susan Wallis
Management Committee Member
Location: New South Wales
Occupation: Work at home Mum in Marketing/PR/Sales
About: Susan is a mother of 2 girls who has recently returned to the workforce with a great opportunity to work from home. Susan’s background has involved employment in training, recruitment, sales, marketing and project management. A 5 year stint helping kids with disabilities find work proved to be a godsend when Susan’s eldest daughter was born with special needs.
Reason for Joining the Project: This is the second incorporated association I have been a founding member for, and one of many volunteer roles I have undertaken. I read Cate’s blog and was moved to offer something more substantial than donate money or services, and Cate’s solution was to offer a role on the committee. I volunteer my time and money to people and causes I admire and respect, like Cate and Rick, because I’m selfish. It makes me feel good! When I die I want to feel like I’ve given back more than I have taken, and made a difference.
